At the invitation of the Illinois Supreme Court Rules Committee, Attorney Gary Schlesinger will be one of the speakers at a public hearing in Chicago, Illinois on Friday, October 4. The hearing is on the proposed Illinois Supreme Court rule 138, dealing with privacy of information in court papers.

On September 24, Gary Schlesinger was a speaker at a Continuing Legal Education seminar. The subject was Legal Ethics and Trust Account Management.

On Monday, July 22, I had a letter to the editor published in the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin about new Illinois Supreme Court Rule 138 and it being contradictory to many family law statutes.

The nominating committee of the Lake County Bar Association has nominated Gary for a three year seat on the Board of Directors starting July 1,2013.

Gary and Mike submitted nominating petitions to the Illinois State Bar Association for three year seats on the assembly, the legislative body of the organization, starting July 1, 2013. both will be elected by acclimation.

Michael Strauss was appointed to the Child Law Section Council of the Illinois State Bar Association by the incoming president.

Gary Schlesinger has been appointed to the Illinois State Bar Association Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission Committee.

Gary Schlesinger was asked by the President of the Lake County Bar Association and the family law judges of the 19th Judicial Circuit Lake County Illinois to help draft a brochure on Illinois law and procedure for use and guidance of pro se litigants in divorce, parentage, legal separation, and declaration of invalidity of marriage cases. On May 17, it will be presented to the Lake County Bar Family Law Committee for approval, and then to the Board of Governors of the L.C.B.A. (Lake County Bar Association) for approval. If approved, it will be disseminated under the auspices of the court and the Lake County Bar Association.
